The customer portal will employ the latest standard in web security, – “Two Factor authentication”. “Two Factor authentication” provides the customer with their “Account PIN” via a mobile phone number that they have already registered on the account. The PIN will be sent by SMS text message. This ensures that only the correct person can receive the password. The Customer will be required to activate their account via a valid email address before the PIN is issued.
*The customer’s mobile phone number must exist on the customer’s account profile in order for this process to work.
HOW THE “TWO-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION” WILL BE UTILIZED:
STEP 1: The customer will be required to provide an Email address. A verification email will be sent to the email address provided. Clicking on the link provided in the verification email will activate the customer’s account and allow the customer to set their login password.
STEP 2: The user logs in to the portal using their email address and the password set in STEP 1. The customer then provides their account number and their mobile number. If the account number and mobile phone number that have been provided match in the system, a new PIN number will be issue via text message.
STEP 3: The customer enters the PIN to gain access to their account details. The available details are determined by the waste service provider.
